North Lawrence - William D. Burgoyne, 75 of North Lawrence, passed away Tuesday evening at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, where he had been in failing health. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home, Winthrop. Bill was born September 28, 1935, in Ellenburg, the son of the late Archie and Mary (Soucia) Burgoyne. On August 25, 1956 he married Mary Bracey, at Lyon Mountain with the Rev. Kellogg presiding. In 1959, he began a 36 year career with the Reynolds Metals Company. During his employment he worked throughout the aluminum company, retiring in 1995 as a crane operator. Bill was an honary member of the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department. He was aso a member of the Senior Citizens of Brasher, Hogansburg and Massena. Bill is survived by his wife Mary; and his children, John and his wife Barbara, Donna, Laurie and her companion Rick Burrell, all of North Lawrence, Allen and his wife Gail of Dickinson Center. He is also survived by his sister Rita Patnode of Milton, Vermont; grandchildren - Billy and Jaimee Burgoyne, Jennifer and Ramon Ortiz, Brooke and Justin Sweet, Cheyanne Burgoyne, John Hartz, Ashley Hartz and great grandchildren - Zaylee, Kylee, and Lillee Sweet, Brayden and Addison Burgoyne, many nieces and nephews and his dog Minnie. He is predeceased by two sisters Marie Cook, and Cecile Muraski; two Brothers Archie Burgoyne and Maurice Burgoyne. There will be no public calling hours, burial will commence in the spring at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, North Lawrence. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Lawrence Church, North Lawrence with the Rev. Garry Giroux presiding. Everyone is invited to the fire station after mass.
