Raymondville- Michael Paul Snyder, 53 of Raymondville passed away Thursday (June 2, 2011) morning at Massena Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home, Winthrop. Michael was born December 17, 1957 the son of the late Roy J. and Vera (Phillips) Snyder. He was a 1976 graduate of St. Lawrence Central School. November 10, 1977 he enlisted into the United States Army, during his enlistment he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge and the Army Commendation Medal. Mr. Snyder was honorably discharged on November 7, 1980. Mike married Lori Woodward of Raymondville August 15, 2009, at the Gazebo in the Massena Veterans Park. He is survived by his wife Lori; his children and their spouses, Roy and Faith Snyder, Tracy and Brian Kee, Tara and James Dolinger, all of Sumter South Carolina, Justin Woodward of Norfolk, Eric and Melissa Schuck of Massena, Ashley Schuck of Raymondville and Angel Waltz of Gouverneur. Also surviving Michael are his grandchildren; Nathan, Caiden, Kyler, Keagan, Landon, Laelah, and Keera, step children and step grandchildren. He also leaves behind four brothers and a sister; Henry (Jane) Snyder, Steven Snyder and his companion Carla Jebo, David (Melissa) Snyder, Dana Snyder, and Carla Peters. For the past 12 years Mike has been employed with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, where he earned the respect of many of his colleagues he worked with. Mike enjoyed boating with friends, motorcycling, singing karaoke, and most of all spending time with family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association. The family will receive friends at the Hammill Funeral Home, Winthrop, Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral Services will be held Monday evening at 8pm.
