Winthrop - Yvette M. "Ralph" Proper, 71, passed away peacefully Friday (Sept. 9, 2011) in the comfort of her home surrounded with the love of her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Yvette was born on July 1, 1940 in Massena, daughter of the late Prosper Delima LeBlanc and received her education at Holy Family and Massena High School. She married Donald Proper in Winthrop and together they shared in a devoted union, as well as many memories of hunting and fishing. Yvette cherished all the times with her grandchildren. In her leisure, she enjoyed knitting. She is survived by her husband, Donald, her children; Nancy and Eric LaBier of Winthrop, and Theresa and Henry Curry of North Lawrence, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Raymond and Wilfred LeBlanc and two sisters, Rita Conrad and Janet Hand, predeceased her. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home, Monday from 6 to 8pm. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery. Memorials in her honor can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley Inc.
