Oh my. Papa. What a great, loving man. He could always make someone's day with his heartwarming smiles. A tall man, he stood. And he stood a proud man. He served his country. He expressed his feelings, through his goofy sayings. "You have to be smarter than the match," he would say. He loved to fish, and hunt with his big guns and rods, and always ended up bringing home an award winning deer. He may not have always hit the deer with one bullet, but he put up the fight, and got it some way or another. He married my grandmother, Lola Dee and raised 4 beautiful children, filled with his charming looks.
I remember when I was younger, in my early childhood, how we would talk, and everything. His hugs were the warmest. Oh boy, do I miss those. I wish I could get one more hug.
He would spend plenty of time with each of his 7 grandchildren. I love you Papa, always will, and miss you.
Love,
-Savannah

I wasn't able to see my Papa very frequently during my childhood and teenage years because he lived so far away. But the time I was able to spend with him in person and memories I was blessed with still resonate in my mind, and will continue to, forever after his recent, unfortunate and heartbreaking death. He was an amazing, loving, proud father to his children, and took a lot of pride in his beloved grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by not only me, but from his family who loved him dearly.
I remember when I was a child, he was very good to me and my siblings, when he was able to see us, or if we went to visit him at his house in the middle of Nowhereville, New York he worked so hard for his whole life. He was so warm and welcoming to us. Although he was never a person to express his emotions, he always made up for it through his generous and loving actions, radiating his love for me and my siblings through his eyes and heartwarming smiles. I thought it was funny that he adapted the infamous Canadian "Eh?" after every sentence he spoke. He enjoyed spending time with us, and his quiet life with my Nanny.
He was the proud owner of many acres of land, and each time we were able to visit my grandparents, I always looked forward to riding his four-wheelers and going out back to wander around the vast, beautiful property he owned. As far as I can remember, he has always had great pleasure in fishing and hunting, counting down the days until hunting season. He always was bringing home majestic bucks he hunted and hung them up in great pride. His homemade deer jerky was a delicious treat, always tasting fresher and much better than store bought Slim Jims, anytime, anywhere, hands down. I will always remember him by his famous, "you SOB!" Although it's not very appropriate to say something like this, especially in this situation, but I know everyone who was fortunate and blessed enough to know this amazing and very loved man, father, and grandfather will always be able to remember him by this saying. He was, is, and will always be loved and appreciated by those who were close to him. I know he will always have a well-deserved and very special place in my heart, and in my spirits. One other thing that I remember about him, is how much he loved my Nanny. He stuck by her when she fell very ill and needed a liver transplant. He helped take care of her and helped her with her medications. Although his physical body has withered and succumbed to his asbestos, his love for her will always burn with a hot intensity of a roaring fire, never to fade or burn out with time.
Don't worry, Papa, she will always be taken care of and watched over by her family, as you will always continue watching her from Heaven. I promise Nanny will be taken care of in the way she deserves, and in the fashion you would expect your beloved wife and soul mate you expect. Do me a favor and please tell the Big Man up there I said hello for me, I can't wait to be able to see your warm smile again and run into your welcoming arms again, for the rest of eternity. Take care and I send my love to you, you are in a much better place now, free of the problems your physical body endured. I bet you are totally enjoying the break from taxes and bills!
I love you Papa, don't you dare ever forget that. I miss you very much.
With lots of love,
Your oldest granddaughter, Kristen. <3

We knew both Jack and Lola for a few years and we have never met a finer or more gracious couple. We camped in their yard. They were always so much fun and did all they could to make our weeks pleasant and fun.We really enjoyed talking with the both of them about many everyday things and Jack made us laugh alot. This earth was a better place with him in it and he will be missed so much.

St. Regis Falls- Jack O. Wilson Sr., 70, passed away peacefully at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, in Plattsburgh with the love and support of his family by his side.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home, in St. Regis Falls.
Jack was born on February 23, 1941 in Hopkinton, to Otis C. and Helen (Locy) Wilson. He was raised and educated locally, attending Nicholville School, and graduating from St. Regis Falls Central. After graduation Jack enlisted in the Marine Corps, proudly serving his country from 1958- 1966.
When he returned from service, he met Lola Willis. The two were married on May 16, 1964 in Harkers Island, NC. They shared a devoted union of 47 years.
Jack worked as an equipment operator at Alcoa for 34 years, retiring in 1998.
Jack was the epitome of an outdoorsman. He loved anything outside, especially his beautiful land. Hunting and fishing were his passion; but more recently; resting in the shade of his cedar tree swing was what he enjoyed most. He liked 4 wheeling and driving the "Morley Ford" tractor and hosting campers in his backyard, otherwise known as the "Morley Redneck Camping Club". While vacationing in NC, Jack and Lola always looked forward to boat rides with family.
He cherished any time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife; Lola, his children; Jack Wilson Jr. of Newport, NC, Myra Haney and Wayne Lester, of Paul Smiths, Helen and Ron Bush of Morley, and Beth Most and James Lawrence of Beaufort, NC, 7 grandchildren; Brandi Collins of PA, Nanci Collins of Morley, Allecia Haney of Lake Placid, Kristen Most of PA, Ian Haney of St. Regis Falls, Curt Most of PA, and Savannah Most of NC, his sister; Janet Farmer of Nicholville, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his dog, "little buddy" Banjo.
Jack was predeceased by his father, Otis C. Wilson, and his brother-in-law, Donald Farmer.
In keeping with Jack's wishes there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial and Military Honors will take place at Mound Hill Cemetery privately in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, and for those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's honor to the St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue.
