Obituary of Jack Otis Wilson

St. Regis Falls- Jack O. Wilson Sr., 70, passed away peacefully at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, in Plattsburgh with the love and support of his family by his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home, in St. Regis Falls. Jack was born on February 23, 1941 in Hopkinton, to Otis C. and Helen (Locy) Wilson. He was raised and educated locally, attending Nicholville School, and graduating from St. Regis Falls Central. After graduation Jack enlisted in the Marine Corps, proudly serving his country from 1958- 1966. When he returned from service, he met Lola Willis. The two were married on May 16, 1964 in Harkers Island, NC. They shared a devoted union of 47 years. Jack worked as an equipment operator at Alcoa for 34 years, retiring in 1998. Jack was the epitome of an outdoorsman. He loved anything outside, especially his beautiful land. Hunting and fishing were his passion; but more recently; resting in the shade of his cedar tree swing was what he enjoyed most. He liked 4 wheeling and driving the "Morley Ford" tractor and hosting campers in his backyard, otherwise known as the "Morley Redneck Camping Club". While vacationing in NC, Jack and Lola always looked forward to boat rides with family. He cherished any time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife; Lola, his children; Jack Wilson Jr. of Newport, NC, Myra Haney and Wayne Lester, of Paul Smiths, Helen and Ron Bush of Morley, and Beth Most and James Lawrence of Beaufort, NC, 7 grandchildren; Brandi Collins of PA, Nanci Collins of Morley, Allecia Haney of Lake Placid, Kristen Most of PA, Ian Haney of St. Regis Falls, Curt Most of PA, and Savannah Most of NC, his sister; Janet Farmer of Nicholville, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his dog, "little buddy" Banjo. Jack was predeceased by his father, Otis C. Wilson, and his brother-in-law, Donald Farmer. In keeping with Jack's wishes there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial and Military Honors will take place at Mound Hill Cemetery privately in the spring. In lieu of flowers, and for those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's honor to the St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue. Online condolences and memories may be shared with his family at www.hammillfh.com.
