Nicholville - Edna J. Monica, 74, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 12, 2012. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Edna was born on December 31, 1937 in Nicholville, daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Brown Monica. She attended Nicholville schools and graduated from St. Regis Falls High School in 1955. Throughout the years, Edna was a bookkeeper for various companies including: Nicholville Telephone Company, Durwood Skiff, Sherman's Excavating, and Germanetti and Ryan. She completed her training and was an Election Inspector in Parishville, a position Edna took much pride in. Edna was a lifelong member of the Nicholville United Methodist Church. She was active in the choir, a Sunday School Teacher, the WSCS and participated in the church suppers. She enjoyed her Bingo excursions and liked playing games of chance. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Erma Webb of Winthrop, Mrs. Pete (Lila) Fiske of Brasher Falls and Mrs. Neva Cross of Bombay; a sister in law, Mrs. Pauline Monica of Lawrenceville; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. One brother, Marvel Monica in 1979; one sister, Rita Monica in 2010; and two nephews, Marty Monica and Dan Cross; predeceased her. Edna's visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Edna's Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will commence Monday morning at 11 at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Sweeney officiating. Interment will follow at Hopkinton - Ft. Jackson Cemetery in Hopkinton.
