Massena- Thomas W. Bradish, 76, passed away, Thursday May 10, 2012 at the Massena Memorial Hospital with the love and support of his family by his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Tom was born on February 9, 1936 in Massena, to the late Thomas K. and Ellen (Hammill) Bradish. He was raised and educated in Massena. On October 18, 1954 Tom married the former Carole Ramsey at the Sacred Heart Church in Massena. They were married 54 years, until her passing on February 26, 2009. Tom was a furnace operator for Alcoa; he retired in 1998. Tom was a family man; he absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took much pleasure in hunting and fishing. Tom was also one of the original founding members of the Tri-Town Rescue Squad. He is survived by his children, Rick Bradish of CT, Sue and Bruce Howie of Massena, Julia Bradish of Canton, John Bradish of Madrid, Patrick and Marion Bradish of Winthrop, Michael and Maureen Bradish of Plattsburgh, and Thomas "TJ" and Tammy Bradish Jr. of Albany; his grandchildren, Stacey Bradish, Mindy Cook, Mark Bowles, Kolin Bradish and Ellen Bradish and their mother Kim, Sara Bradish, Jonathan Bradish, Jesse Bradish, Kelsie Bradish, and Austin Bradish; his great-grandchildren, Devin Terry, Faith Waite, and McKenna Bowles; his siblings, Doris Chenier of Massena, Ellen and Dave Wilson of Winthrop, and Bill and Jane Bradish of Massena, a step-brother, Victor Anderson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Marie Ramsey. Also surviving Tom is his special friend, Carolyn McGrath. For the past six months, Tom has been blessed to have Carolyn by his side. His family is extremely grateful for the care and compassion that she brought into his life. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Tom's Mass of Christian Burial and Funeral Service will be Monday at 10am at St. Patrick Church with the Rev. Garry Giroux celebrating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to express an act of kindness may make memorial contributions in Tom's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to a charity of choice.
