Massena- Carin Alice Ann Blain, 20, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 22, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA due to liver failure. She was surrounded by the love and support of her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Carin was born in Massena on May 9, 1992, daughter of Hughy Blain of Brasher Falls, and Sally Blain Sauve of Massena. Carin had a million dollar smile and a laugh that could make anyone laugh with her. She loved animals, especially horses. She enjoyed walks at the nature center and loved her workers from UCP very much. She showed off her excellent imagination through her creative painting and drawing. Besides her parents she is survived by: her step-father, John Sauve of Massena; 2 brothers, Brandon George and Kevin Blain both of Massena; her grandparents, Keith and Jennie George of Winthrop, and Joyce Blain of Brasher Falls; her aunts and uncles, Bryan George and Scott George, both of Hermon, Judy George of Winthrop, Karen George of Brasher Falls, Ernie Blain of Naples, FL, and Cheryl Gackstatter of Kingston, and 2 nephews, Damien Rotach and Christopher George. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Earl Blain, and her uncle, Steven George. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home, followed by Carin's Funeral Service and Celebration of Life at 8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Lahey Clinic Medical Center 2MICU, 41 Mall Road Burlington, MA 01805 or to the Massena Humane Society.
