Norfolk - Dorraine Thompson, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Massena Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Born in Winthrop on July 25, 1920, Dorraine is the daughter of the late Lyndon and Mildred (Osgood) Greene. She graduated from Brasher Stockholm High School and on October 11, 1950, Dorraine married Orman A. Thompson in Williamsville. Mr. Thompson passed away on November 9, 1999. Dorraine took great pleasure in raising her family; but also found time to work for the Racquette Paper Company and Warner Bros. Company. She attended the Congregational Church in Massena and was a member of the Stockholm Historical Society. Dorraine is survived by three grandchildren: Stephanie Pecor of Massena, Abby Pecor of Virginia Beach, VA and Benjamin Pecor of Guam; three nephews: Richard and Deborah Greene, Jr. of Summerville, SC, Frank and Lori Greene of Norwood and Michael Greene of Delanson. Two daughters, Linda Pecor and Belle Thompson, two brothers, Pvt. Donald Greene and Richard Greene and one sister, Gretchen Ruth Greene, predeceased her. Visitation for Dorraine will be Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3, with her funeral service and Celebration of Life service commencing at 3pm. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery.
