Obituary of Maxine D. Hart

St. Regis Falls - Maxine D. Hart, 82, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, August 4, 2012. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Maxine was born on July 8, 1930 in Dickinson, daughter of the late David and Bessie (Holmes) O'Neil. On December 24, 1947, she married Elmer Hart in Bangor; Mr. Hart passed away in 1985. Maxine dedicated her life to her family; fulfilling her role as wife, mother and grandmother, loving each of them unconditionally and uniquely. Maxine is survived by her children and their families: Norman, David and Marilou, Wayne, Mark and Roger all of St. Regis Falls and Diane Wright of Watertown; one brother, Earle O'Neil of Tillson; grandchildren, David and Margo Hart, two great grandsons, David and Reilly Hart; step-granddaughters, Jennifer and Ed Peck and Julie and Mike Smithers; step-great-granddaughters, Mikayla Peck, Hailey Peck and Alexis Sawyer; three step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and ten step-great-great-grandchildren. Always close to her heart were the memories of her siblings that predeceased her: sisters, Rena Mosher, Betty Wells and Marie Jenkins, brothers, Ronald, David and Richard O'Neil. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 and Wednesday from 10 to 11am, followed by her funeral service and Celebration of Life at 11am. She will be buried beside her husband at Forest Cemetery in St. Regis Falls.
