Eloise W. Campbell, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at Massena Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 7, 2012. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home.
Eloise was born on December 24, 1927 in Hopkinton, daughter of the late Harold and Winifred (Downey) Webb. She graduated from Parishville-Hopkinton High School in 1946 and from Watertown Business School in 1947. On June 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Leroy George Campbell in Malone. They shared a devoted union of 33 years filled with much love and respect, until his passing on March 20, 1983.
She was employed by the St. Lawrence County Office of the Aging in Canton for 15 years, until her retirement. Throughout the years, she lived in Ft. Jackson, Winthrop, Potsdam and Massena.
Eloise exemplified the role of wife and mother; holding the needs of her family first. Her adoring ways, were special and unique; a true example of what a mother should be. She left a legacy of love and memories for her children to treasure: her fascination with the Yankees, crocheting for the kids, her love of chocolate, reading and always wanting them to drive faster.
Eloise is survived by four daughters and sons in law; Kathy and Steven Davis of Orlando, FL, Keitha and Bob Kissell of Edgewater, FL, Karan and Steven Grant of Canton and Karol and Lester Hamm of Orlando, FL, two sons and a daughter in law; George and Brenda Campbell of Nicholville and Michael Campbell of Potsdam: many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Always close to her heart was the memory of her husband; daughter, Sherry Rochefort; grandson, Jordan Campbell; brothers, George and Maurice Webb; and sister, Phyllis Daby, all who predeceased her.
Following her wishes, there will be no calling hours; private burial will be in Hopkinton - Ft. Jackson Cemetery with her husband.
