Winthrop - Vivian H. McAllister, 94, peacefully passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at her home surrounded by the comfort of her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Vivian was born in the Town of Stockholm on August 2, 1918, daughter of the late Guy and Pearl (Demo) McAllister. She graduated from North Lawrence High School and moved to Long Island to receive her nursing training. She lived in Smithtown, Long Island, tendering care for the sick as a RN at Pilgrim State Hospital. She retired and moved to her home in Ft. Jackson in 2000 to be by her family. She attended the Nicholville United Methodist Church. Surviving Vivian are her in Laws, Betty McAllister of Winthrop and Ivan Hollenbeck of Ft. Jackson; nieces and nephews, Jean and Welby LaPointe of Massena, Sheila Wagner of St. Regis Falls, Lee McAllister of Winthrop, Robert and Mary McAllister of Ft. Jackson, Jack Hollenbeck of North Lawrence and James Hollenbeck of Ft. Jackson; many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Leland and Luke McAllister and Virginia Hollenbeck, and two nephews, Cory R. McAllister and Joshua Lee LaPointe. There will be no calling hours; Vivian's graveside service will be Saturday at 12:30pm at Southville Cemetery in Stockholm.
