St. Regis Falls- Mr. Charles Floyd LaBounty, 87, passed away Friday September 21, 2012 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone with the love and support of his family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls.
Charles was born on December 24, 1924 in St. Regis Falls to the late Herman and Elsie (Weller) LaBounty. He was raised and educated locally. He married Verlie Chesbrough and the two shared a devoted union of 69 years.
Charles worked as an accountant for 25 years at Alcoa.
He considered himself jack-of- all-trades. He enjoyed his woodworking and mechanics, and took pleasure in hunting and fishing.
Charles is survived by his wife, Verlie, his children: Paula (LaBounty) Davies and her husband Richard Davies of Tallahassee, FL, Lorraine LaBounty Siecker and her husband Tim Siecker of Mt. Airy, MD, and Charles G. LaBounty and his wife Venus (Tiller) LaBounty of Merritt Island, FL., a son-in-law, David Sharpe of Potsdam, and a daughter-in-law Linda (Cox) LaBounty of Tallahassee, FL., his grandchildren: Krystal Hulme, Ramona Byrd, Major Kevin Sharpe, Holly Meuth, Kayc Stone, and Tiffany Riley, and his great-grandchildren: Dawson, Camden and Mason Hulme, Ashley and Joshua Stone, Alyssa and Ava Riley, Brooklyn, Leanna, Codi, and Jeffery Byrd, and Manderson Meuth.
Always close to his heart was the memory of, his children Dawn LaBounty Sharpe and Vance H. LaBounty who predeceased him.
In keeping with Charles' wishes, services will be held at the convenience of his family. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue.
