Our thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie's family . Charlie was our kids bus driver for our children for many years . They respected Charlie so much and were sad to hear of his passing. He always made a point of saying Hi to them well after they were out of school when he saw them. He kept a tight ship when he drove bus ! And kids respected him ! Potsdam School needs more people like Charlie... devoted and respected . RIP Charlie ....and thank you for being a part of our girls lives. You taught them so much.

Charlie Varney, a simple man, didn't ask for much, but gave everything he had. For more than 40 years, my mom & dad, Mike & Candi lived just across the road, and as my sister, Darci & I, Jeffrey would come back home we'd often visit. We, The Norman's all have our own unique stories and memories of Charlie, he was such a good person, he lived as though he hadn't a worry in the world, but had many. We watched Sara & Charlie Jr. grow into young adults & how he loved his kids. I could go to sleep for rest of my life & have a different memory of Charlie, he was that impressionable. We will my you Charlie! I, my mom, dad & Darci thank you Charlie Jr., Sara & Julie for sharing your dad, mate with us for so many years. Hold him in your hearts and cherish the time you had, for he is not gone, he will live in memory with us forever...BIG HUGZ from the Norman family.

Little charlie, Sara, Julie,Fred and all other family. I can not express how sorry am for your loss. Charlie was one of my deapest friends we joked , and cryed together over the years, We knew no matter what was going on we could count on each other for help. Many days and nights we would work on cars lawnmowers or anything else mechanical in our garages, we would argue and shout and sometimes jump up and down when things would'nt go right then look at each other and laugh because we would know how silly we would look and sound. They say we are lucky if we have one true friend in life well I was very be lucky to have known Charlie because he was one true friend.Reat in piece my old comrade and we should consider ourselve blessed for having him in our lives. God will hold him in his hand and give him the blessings in Heaven he diserves, We love you brother.

My dear Charlie.... how sad I was to hear of your passing yesterday. I first met you when you would fill in as a sub bus driver for my kids and you always had a smile on your face when the kids got on and off the bus. My kids loved you, Christopher always talked about this Charlie that took care of the school. hahaha Even when you would yell at him to stop wondering the halls and get back to class, he still came home and talked about you. Then I was lucky enough to have had the pleasure to work at Lawrence Ave with you for 9 years. You always made me smile and we had many laughs together at the stupid jokes we would tell each other. I enjoyed hearing about your kids and your grandkids. They were so lucky to have had a Grandfather that enjoyed them like you did. Rest in peace Charlie, your laughter will always be remembered.
