Brasher Falls- Loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, Ms. Karen A. George, 53 passed away peacefully April 22, 2013 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love, care, and support of her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Karen was born in Potsdam, April 26, 1959 to Keith and Jennie (Lazore) George. She was raised and educated locally. For several years Karen worked as a supervisor at Sunmount Developmental Disability in Tupper Lake. Karen enjoyed her life, and lived each day to its fullest. She cherished her time here with friends and family doing as much as she could. Karen was always willing to help out anyway she could and never met a day without a smile. She would like to thank all those that have ever touched her life and hopes that your lives are better for knowing her as hers was enriched knowing all of you. Karen is survived by her wife of 13 years and caretaker, Arlene Clark of Brasher Falls, her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Alyssa Clark of Massena, her parents: Keith and Jennie George of Winthrop and Ronald and Darlene Clark of Brasher Falls, her siblings: Bryan and Scott George both of Hermon, Judy George of Winthrop, and Sally and John Sauve of Massena, brother-in-laws, Hughy Blain of Brasher Falls, and Ron Clark of Massena, brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Eleanor Richards of Moira, 3 nephews, Brandon, Kevin, and Jessie and many great nephews. She was predeceased by her grandparents, her brother Steven George, and her niece, Carin Blain. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 at the funeral home. Karen’s Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will commence Friday evening at 7pm upon conclusion of visitation. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Karen’s honor to the Tri-Town Rescue Squad or North Lawrence Fire Dept.
