Aunt Thiry will be forever in our hearts. She was so giving of herself. We will be forever in awe of what an amazing woman she was. She helped us after the death of both of our parents so close together. She was always there with a listening ear, words of wisdom and advice. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of need. Love to all of you.

It's hard to say goodbye
Her picture in my mind
Will always be of times I'll cherish And I won't cry 'cause
She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waitin'
And I know she's smilin' sayin', "Don't worry 'bout me
Don't worry 'bout me, don't worry 'bout me"

North Lawrence- Mrs. Thiry V. (Crump) Sauvie, 65, passed away April 23, 2013 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester surrounded by the love and support of her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Thiry was born in North Lawrence on March 21, 1948 daughter of the late Lloyd and Beatrice (Gibson) Crump. Raised and educated locally; she graduated from St. Patrick School in 1962 and then from St. Lawrence Central High School in 1966.
On November 4, 1970 in Fort Jackson Thiry was united in marriage to James Sauvie, by Justice of the Peace, J.P. Streeter. Thiry and Jim were best friends and soul-mates, sharing a devoted union of 42 years.
Thiry embraced a strong work ethic, allowing her to fulfill and complete any task or challenge while on the job. She held many positions in the food service industry, being a jack of all trades. First she worked at Proflectic in Massachusetts, then the Wheel Inn and Plywood in Tupper Lake, then at Sea Basket in Maine, Paces at Potsdam State and finally at Aramark at Clarkson College; the position from which she retired.
Thiry had an outgoing spirit and personality like no other. She was always keeping you on your toes and would tell you how it is, weather you liked it or not. She was a special lady and always a giver; she would give the shirt off her back for anyone. Family meant the world to Thiry; she especially enjoyed family gatherings when everyone was together.
She took pleasure in sewing and crocheting. She would "crochet like crazy" however, was always under the supervision of her sister June. Thiry enjoyed playing bingo and was enthralled by games of chance; always looking forward to trips to the casino with Jim. She also liked to go camping.
Thiry was active in her parish and community as a member of: the 4-H School, VFW Post 7326, Altar Rosary Society of St. Lawrence Church, and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, her children: Penny and Richard Wickwire of Parishville, Jim and Tina Sauvie of Edgecomb, ME., Randy and Kim Sauvie of Potsdam, Steven and Melissa Sauvie of Brasher Falls, and Mark Sauvie and his fiancé Jennifer Eggelston of Winthrop, 8 grandchildren: Jamie Lynn, Chantelle, Casey, Shandel, Lucas, Bryant, Brittani, and Kristinea, and 10 great-grandchildren: Ian, Kamryn, Gavin, Carter, Hayden, Jayse, Cayson, Nolan, Chandler, and Kendal. Always close to her heart, is the memory of her grandson Randy Jr., and great-grandson Gauge, who predeceased her.
Survivors also include, 5 sisters: Carol and Carmen Jock of North Lawrence, June and Jim Engles of North Lawrence, Ramona and Peter Dawes of Holland Patent, Shara and Richard Paige of Norwood, and Deeon and Roger LaBier of North Lawrence, 4 brothers: Carl and Anne Crump of North Lawrence, Roy Crump of North Lawrence, Dale Crump and Christine of Norwood, Doyle Crump of North Lawrence, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by: her sister Trudy Crump, her brother and sister-in-law, Walker and Sharron Crump, and sister-in-law, Debbie Crump.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 at the funeral home. Thiry's Mass of Christian Burial and Funeral Service will be celebrated Tuesday at 10am at St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence with Rev. Garry Giroux officiating.
For those wishing to express an act of kindness, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Lawrence Church.
