Helena- Mr. Normand J. Tetreault, 76, passed away Friday May 24, 2013 at the Massena Memorial Hospital with the love and support of his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Normand was born in Standstead, Quebec Canada on August 9, 1936 to the late Ambrose and Eva (Tetrault) Tetreault. He was raised and educated locally attending Grammar School in Canada. On July 2, 1966 he married Barbara Decker. They shared a devoted union of 47 years filled with love and hard work. Normand worked as a dairy farmer his whole life. His love for farming was clearly evident, as at one time he and Barbara were farming on 32 different farms. He was truly dedicated to his work. Normand enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; such as reading a good book or simply walking in the woods which he loved. He had an appreciation for nature and all its beauty. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children: Michael and Michelle Tetreault of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Roger Tetreault of Helena, Susan and Jeff Gooch of Athens, AL, and Gregory and Jennifer Tetreault of Hearts Scrabble, AL., 6 grandchildren: Lucas, Noah, Emily, Abigail, Colton, and Breydon, his siblings: Dennis and Cecile Tetreault of Canada, Helen (Tetreault)Plante of Paris, France, Muriel Tetreault of Canada, Bernard Tetreault of NJ, Albert and Jackie Tetreault of Fairfield, VT., and his beloved best friend and canine companion, Bully. In keeping with Normand’s wishes there will be no services at this time. For those wishing to express and act of kindness, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
