Raymondville - Rose Charlotte Shantie, passed away July 19, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family and Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Rose was born on March 30, 1931 in West Stockholm, New York, to Elwood & Dorothy Moses Page. On August 26, 1949, she married James Shantie. He predeceased her on June 25, 1970.
Rose is survived by her four children: Diane Shantie, Charlotte Clark, Son-in-law Lee Clark, Patrick Shantie, Arthur Shantie, Daughter-in-law Rose (Mangel) Shantie, nine grandchildren, Betty & Juan Caraballo, Lee and Andrea Cark, Tabitha Kinny, Pamela Clark, Patti & John Woods, Shana Shantie, Jim Shantie, Peter Shantie, George Shantie, step granddaughter Jessica & Ron Leroux, step grandson Dale Mangel, and seventeen great grandchildren: Micah, Rebecca, Maegan, Hannah, Jamie John, Ethan, Shawn, Rehianna, Logan, Jake, Dylan, Samantha, Timmy, Emily, Alyssa, Joshua, Cheyenne, and five step great grandchildren, Kaiden, Conner, Sophia, Olivia, and Emily.
Rose was predeceased by her husband James and a great grandchild Andrew Wiesberg.
Family and friends may gather in memory of Rose at the Hammill Funeral Home on July 27, 2013 from 10 – 10:30 a.m. with a Remembrance Gathering starting at 10:30.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy 11, Potsdam, NY 13676.
