Obituary of Janet H. Farmer
Graveside services for Janet H. Farmer, 77, of Nicholville will be Thursday at 9:00 am at Mound Hill Cemetery in Nicholville with Rev. Lee Sweeney officiating. Following Janet's wishes, there will be no calling hours; arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Farmer passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Canton Potsdam Hospital.
Janet was born on March 8, 1937 in Nicholville, daughter of Otis and Helen (Locy) Wilson. She went to Nicholville schools and graduated from St. Regis Falls High School. She married Donald E. Farmer on October 26, 1959 in Moira, sharing a blessed union of 50 years. Donald passed away on March 23, 2010.
For many years she was a seamstress while stationed in North Carolina, but when she moved home to Nicholville found relaxation in knitting and crocheting. Janet was a lady with a sweet, gentle nature, always sharing her love with her family and enjoying the loving embraces of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Donna Sweet of Dickinson Center, Kelly and Kevin Provost of St. Regis Falls, and James Farmer and his companion Claire Sheehan of Ft. Jackson; her mother, Helen Wilson of St. Regis Falls; her grandchildren, Joey and Angela Sweet of North Lawrence, Justin and Brooke Sweet of Nicholville, Michael Provost and Monique Sheldon of Dickinson, Brittany Provost and Anthony Susice of St. Regis Falls, Jennifer and Chad Carter of Burke, Jessica and Devin Furnace of Mexico and Lori Burdash of Malone; great grandchildren, Jace, Audrey Ann, Josie, Zaylee, Lillee, Kylee, Annalyse, Chloe and Addison; two sisters, Sally Randolph of Brasher Falls, and Ruth Martin of St. Regis Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Janet was predeceased by her husband, Donald, her father, Otis Wilson, one grandson, Jesse "Gump" Sweet, and her brother, Jack Wilson.
