Lawrenceville - Helen A. Wargo, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Helen was born on December 7, 1929 in Lawrenceville, daughter of the late Hugh W. and Lena F. (Cady) Spellan and received her education at Lawrenceville Academy and Brushton High School. She married and was predeceased by; Howard Lindsay, married at St. Lawrence Rectory on December 12, 1947, Robert Roach, married at St. Andrews Church in Norwood on November 4, 1965 and John Wargo, married in Hopkinton on June 22, 1974. She was a homemaker, who took great pride in raising her family. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Fire Dept, Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her children; Cheryl Howard of Farmington, Peggy Russell of Webster, and Randy Roach of Lawrenceville, one sister; Margaret Houle of Massena; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Mary Durgan, Mabel Wilson, Ruby Spellan and Grace Wilber. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 - 2 pm at the funeral home, with services to commence with Celebrant Julia O'Brien leading the Celebration of Life. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery in North Lawrence. Memories and condolences can be shared with her family at www.hammillfh.com.
