North Lawrence – Joseph W. D. McGregor, 92, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Massena Memorial Hospital. Following his wishes, graveside services with military honors will be held Monday, October 18, 2021, at Holy Cross Cemetery on the Lake Ozonia Road in Hopkinton at 1 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Joseph was born on March 8, 1929, in Fulton, NY, son of the late Joseph D. and Rose (Thebauld) McGregor. He received his education in Fulton, Massena and graduated from Folsom High School in California. On August 28, 1949, he married Florence Searles of Stockholm in Texarkana, Arkansas. She predeceased him on July 20, 1997. He entered the service in 1948 in the Army Air Corps and received his honorable discharge from the US Air Force in 1954. He worked at Reynolds Metals in Massena in Flex Service, retiring in 1989. He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence, a member of the Reynolds 25-year Club and a member of the American Legion Post #514 in Winthrop, where he served on the Honor Guard and Rifle Squad for military burials. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his siblings; Benjamin McGregor, Elmer McGregor, Mary White, Betty Malone and Ella Mae Smith.
