My Dad was a great grandfather to his grandchildren! He would let the girls Samantha and Annalynn put curlers in his hair and practice putting makeup on him and nail polish. He got to meet Annalynn’s husband Cody and Loved him dearly. With his great grandson Xander (Annalynn and Cody’s son) he played hide and seek, and would always bring all of the coasters to him. Xander would tell PopPop time to eat, sit at the table PopPop, come sit with me. He liked that he had PopPop there. Dad also got to meet Samantha’s husband Zack and Loved him as well. Dad was fortunate enough to meet his great grandson Silas Samantha and Zack’s son) and hold him on a few different occasions. Although he didn’t get to meet three of his great grandchildren because they live so far away, because his grandson Dillon is stationed so far away, he did see pictures and loved them very much! He was very proud of his grandson Dillon whom is in the Air Force. Dad was also very Proud of his granddaughter Jewellianna whom is a goalie for the Manhattanville Women’s Ice Hockey team. And Dad was very proud of his grandson Shiloh for turning his life around and accomplishing the hard task of becoming a Marine!
“Oh wow that’s great!” He would say, “I’m proud of you!” (To everyone ) And he meant it. Dad never used to be one to show his emotions or say I love you, but over the years not a night when by that he didn’t tell you he loved you! When he talked with the kids, he would tell them “I love you!” It warms my heart to know that he could open up like that now. We Love you Dad! I know you were ready to be with Mom, we weren’t ready for you to leave but are we ever?
