Obituary of Donna M. LaLonde

Brasher Falls – Donna M. Lalonde, 74, passed away at University of Vermont Medical Center, in Burlington. Following her wishes, a graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 10th at 12:00 pm at St. Patrick Cemetery in Brasher Falls. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at 1:00 pm at Pike’s Place in Brasher Falls immediately after. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Donna was born in Massena on April 11, 1948, daughter of the late Donald and Doris (Hawkins) Kline. She graduated from Massena High School in 1966 and went on to Utica School of Beauty Culture. On September 6, 1969, she married her true love, Jack Lalonde at St. Joseph’s Church in Massena. They were blessed to share 52 wonderful years together in a mutually devoted relationship, filled with love and laughter. Donna operated her hair salon in her home for 33 years. She prioritized her family and their needs over her own. Her home was open for a secure place for her children and their friends to have fun. She was always ready to respond with a quick quip, and her witty words were heartfelt and sincere. Donna was a sports fan, loved to be socializing with friends and family, a giving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and a pillar of strength for everyone she loved. Her conversations with friends often consisted of accolades of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. She was truely proud of her family. Her children know they were extremely lucky to have such a wonderful mother. She is survived by her husband, Jack, her children, Jazan and Rick Tozier of Brasher Falls, Derek and Melissa Lalonde of Tampa, FL, five grandchildren, Talon Tozier, Ramsey Tozier, Alex Lalonde, Luke Lalonde and Abby Lalonde, nieces, nephews, and friends. Donna was predeceased by two brothers, Larry Kline and James Kline. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Tri Town Minor Hockey or St. Patrick Church.
