Q: What will you never forget about Eric?
A: I met Eric in a supermarket at 11:30 pm in 1982. I just graduated from nursing school and was a new Christian. I saw the Roman collar that he wore and struck up a conversation about my conversion. I have never met a more joyful Christian or a more devoted pastor. He was full of wisdom and always spoke of God’s mercy.

So much i could write. He is one reason im still alive. His obedience to follow the Lord in a timely manner is why im still alive.I had just come back to Christ yet the depression and thoughts were so intense i was planning my suicide for that night. All the sudden i heard a honking horn as this was the way he would get others attention.Anyone who knew him knows this.I wiped my tears away came down to see him.He said the Lord told him to get here right away.I burst into tears. He had me sit in the back seat of his car and preached the Love of God for an hour.During the course of that first year home with the Lord he poured into me teaching me.I was his bus captain during that season in my young 20s.Oh he would do anything to see young people follow Christ. It did not matter what denomination you were.He would show Christs Love to all.I treasure everything he taught me about Jesus.I would not know Jesus today with out this faithful servant.Im so very glad i had been on the phone with him in October.I will so miss him saying Rachel your such a blessing. You know what im going to start saying that to people with Gods help.It shifts your thinking when you hear that.Pastor Eric I will miss you! Enjoy your reward ☺️

Pastor Eric was such a faithful servant to Christ. He didn't allow his limitations to limit sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ coming to the cross and dying for our sins. I am beyond grateful (amongst convicted), and inspired over his example following Christ.
I asked myself "what's my excuse?" People are lost souls dying and going to Hell for eternity... Not some of; it all of it!
And I personally can come up with a million justifiable excuses (in my own head) as to why I won't share the gospel with people...when I choose not to share the gospel with people... Cuz that's what it is it's a choice I choose not to..
Not all the time;
but there are many times that people are passing by on their way to hell and I don't even say a word...
It's not about being a perfect example! It's about being a sinner saved by grace.
for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God that's Romans 3:23
None of us are good enough
as it is written there is none righteous no not one
no one is perfect
no one has lived up to God's perfect standard (Romans 3:10)
Also once we accept that we are a sinner according to the Bible we've got to accept that as a sinner that we must be penalized
Romans 6:23 says for the wages of sin is death
also
Ezekiel 18:4 the soul that sinneth it shall die!
this death is described in the Bible and it is described as the second death the lake of fire and revelation 20 verse 14 it says and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire this is the second death
if we pay what we owe as sinners we must spend an eternity in the lake of fire we are damned to hell we must accept that Jesus Christ has already paid our sin He's paid our debt
Romans 5:6 for when we were yet without strength in due Time Christ died for the ungodly
Hebrews 2:9 (the second half of the verse) says that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Christ was not a sinner and the Bible teaches that God took all of our sin and placed it on Christ while Christ was bearing all of our sins in his own body God punished him in our place to pay the debt we owe this is not something God promised to do it is something God has already done John 3:16 very famous passage for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not Paris but have everlasting life
second Corinthians 5:21 says he has made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him it's just a fact Jesus Christ has already paid for your sins except by faith what Jesus Christ did for you!
90 times in the gospel of John the Bible says "believe" John 3:36 he that believeth on the son hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the son shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth on him.
In this verse Jesus divides the world into two groups those who are believing and those who are not believing on the Son those who believe everlasting life and those who believe not shall not see life the word believe means to trust, to depend on, to rely on.
To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means that you accept the fact that you are a sinner that as a sinner you owe the sin penalty and that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the debt you owe but it means going one step further it means that you will completely trust Christ to get you to heaven that you will put the matter of your salvation in his hands and depend on Him for everlasting life
now the moment you do this God promises you are not condemned but have everlasting life and that you shall never perish John 5:24 says verly verly I say unto you he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me has everlasting life and shall not come unto condemnation but is passed from death unto life... All this is in a very small simple nutshell except believe confess however you want to put it the message can be shared in many variations but the fact is one day you're going to go to hell or you're going to go to heaven eternity smoking or non-smoking it's not about being perfect otherwise Jesus Christ wouldn't have came and died on the cross.
it's not about never ever doing anything wrong in your life ever again....
until you're out of this Earth suit known as a human body you're going to fail, you're going to fall short, you're going to screw up, you're going to have success, you're going to have all sorts of things called life we are born with a sin nature it is natural for us to go against the grain of God but is also natural for us to seek truth!
Jesus Christ said I am the way the truth and the life and I'm only paraphrasing a lot of these things because if people are interested it's on them they have a free will and a free choice to choose to accept to deny etc but the consequences are real the time is short it's your decision and if you are sitting at a point where you just don't know you can be certain according to the Bible now if you don't believe the Bible pray that God shows you truth the only way God is going to show you truth is through the Bible so God can do amazing things and I'm just blabbing right now and I know most of this voice to text probably got spelled wrong but if you just pronounce it hopefully you will get the message the message is there's no other way and pastor Eric believed that and lived that.
he wanted to share the free message with people it is required by us to share that message with people not to shove it down people's throats but at least give people the option.
what they do with it is on them if you're not interested in eating steak and I'm not interested in the salad I'm not going to make you eat it at the dinner table.
or I'm not even going to offer it to you once I know!
but I will offer it to anybody at least once... at least once! I don't see how we can just watch souls walk by every single day... we don't have to bother people . Would it bother you if I run out in traffic and push you out of the way of a Mack truck? that's what the road to hell is very much like people are just going about their everyday lives not even knowing that they're on their way to hell thinking that they can earn their way to heaven.
if we could earn our way to heaven Jesus Christ wouldn't have died on the cross.
there's nothing that you can do that will keep you from hell as far as good and bad things in life!
you cannot work your way to heaven
giving to the poor, feeding people, clothing people and all that other type of stuff all that stuff comes along with following Christ! those will be fruits that Express themselves it'll just naturally come out it'll naturally bloom but just doing that stuff alone God says get for me for I never knew you you've got to have a relationship with Christ in order to have that relationship you've got to believe!
it's very very simple it's not complicated at all and just cuz you believe doesn't mean you're all of a sudden going to have a cure for sin!
Jesus Christ was The cure I'm all over the place but pastor Eric inspired me to do so much and I did so little they have the saying in the world and by in the world I just mean amongst human beings it says three frogs on a log... one made a decision to jump into the water, how many frogs are on the log?
well the answer is three
cuz one only made the decision he didn't put it into action so you could die tomorrow life is short life is not guaranteed but death is inevitable hell is very real I wouldn't want to scare anybody into it but the more you read the Bible the more you read about hell which it talks about more than heaven by the way hell is real hell is very scary hell is forever eternity is forever put yourself in an elevator that goes to the 29th floor or wait in line at the drive-thru at Dunkin' donuts at like rush hour right before work in the morning it feels like forever that's going to be a cake walk that is a cakewalk compared to eternity like I said heaven or hell smoking or non-smoking the gift is free the option is there you can choose to believe or you can choose to go to hell it's free will!
now I'm not trying to be theologically correct with some of the metaphors I'm throwing out there and I'm not even trying to spell everything correctly but for me to publicly put anything on a website it has to point to Christ
I am very guilty of not pointing to Christ in many areas of my life past present and future but I'm a sinner saved by grace and I wouldn't encourage people to turn to Christ if Christ hadn't first loved me..

Pastor Eric was a wonderful friend to our family. My daughters both enjoyed his bus to youth events and knowing him and ministering with him. We had him to our home for dinner one time and he seemed so pleased and grateful. He was the true example of being Christlike and serving the Lord and others. Despite his considerable disability he lived to serve. He is now pain free and rejoicing with Christ and the angels.
