Obituary of Rita M. Gebo
Rita M. Gebo, 81, of Brasher Falls passed away comfortably at home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
She was born to the late Robert and Martha (Villnave) Roach in North Lawrence on August 8, 1941. A graduate of St. Lawrence Central School in Brasher Falls, Rita worked as a personal care aid at LBSH Housing Corporation, where she also lived at the time of her passing. She married Clarence Meacham on May 27, 1961 at St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence. Rita married David "Huffer" Gebo on June 20, 1992, He passed on February 24, 2004.
Besides her parents; she is predeceased by her husband; David "Huffer" Gebo; and her brothers; Phil Roach and Ronny Roach and her companion for 13 years, Leo Lynch.
Surviving Rita are her children; Amy & Patrick Thompson of Woodside and Darrin & Tina Meacham of North Lawrence, as well as her grandchildren; Cody, Cole, and Ty Meacham, and Emily Madlin, her half brother, Randy Roach and step-daughters, Stephanie Gebo, McKinzey Gebo, and granddaughters, Kiara Mossow, and Everleigh Gebo-Bullock.
A graveside service will be held in the summer, where Rita will be laid to rest with "Huffer" at St. Lawrence Cemetery in North Lawrence. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home where memories and words of condolence can be shared at www.hammillfh.com.
