North Lawrence- Joseph A. Gibson, 51, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening (September 5, 2011) at Canton - Potsdam Hospital. Joseph was born on January 20, 1960 in Malone, son of Harold and Alice (Snyder) Gibson. He went to school in St. Regis Falls and later married Cynthia Harper. Joe worked as a handyman, farmer and woodsman. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his children and their spouses, April and Kenneth Charleson of Winthrop, Joseph Jr. and Samantha Gibson of Potsdam, Derek and Rachel Gibson of North Lawrence and Bryce and Nikki Gibson of Hermon; his parents, Harold and Alice Gibson of North Lawrence; nine grandchildren, Ivory, Kierra and Kenneth Charleson, Jr., Taylor, Joseph III, and Brittney Gibson, Lacey and Logan Gibson and Paul Gibson; his brothers and sisters, Harold Gibson of California, Violet and Aaron Warrener of Massena, Raymond and Tammy Gibson of Dickinson, Molly Barber of Potsdam, Kim and Brad Barber of North Lawrence, and Allen and Darla Gibson of Dickinson; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, Thursday from 1 to 2 with a funeral gathering at 2. Burial will follow in Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson Cemetery in Hopkinton.
