Obituary of David LeMieux

St. Regis Falls- A Funeral service for David LeMieux, 70 of Amsterdam, formerly of St. Regis Falls will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00am at Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls with the Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery at the convenience of his family. Mr. LeMieux passed away February 8, 2010 at the Albany Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife; Mary Ann, two daughters; Laurie and Michael Tambasco of Amsterdam, Kathleen "Kathy" and Henry Bowers of Montgomery Village, MD, and one son; Thomas LeMieux of Clifton Park, four grandchildren; Michael Tambasco, Najeeb and Natasha Bowers, and Nicholas Tambasco. He is also survived by one brother, Edward "Ned" LeMieux of Duane; several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his sister-in-law Rita LeMieux, one nephew and one great-nephew. David was born on June 14, 1939 in Schylerville to the late Lionel "Nen" and Margaret "Peg" (McLaughlin) LeMieux. On June 29, 1960, he married the former Mary Ann Blow at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls. David worked for the St. Regis Falls Highway Dept. for 26 years, six of them as highway Superintendent (1972-77). He also worked various road construction jobs. In the late 70's for about six years he owned the liquor store in St. Regis Falls. He was also a member of the St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue. In 1995 he relocated to Clifton Park. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. David was especially devoted to his family and loved his pets. By family's request please omit floral offerings and consider memorial contributions in David's honor to the St. Regis Falls Fire and Rescue. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
