Brasher Falls - Rita A. Charlebois, 83, passed away Sunday morning, June 24, 2012, at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena, surrounded by the love of her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Rita was born on February 28, 1929 in Alexandria, Ontario Canada, daughter of the late Phillipe and May (Gaines) Leroux and attended local schools. On February 11, 1956, she married Maurice Charlebois at Sacred Heart Church in Alexandria, sharing 56 years of commitment to each other and family. Rita and her husband's spirituality was important in their life; as they were faithful parishioners of St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls. She is survived by her husband Maurice; two daughters Pauline of Cornwall and Colette (Neil) MacIntosh of Massena; two grandchildren, Brennan and Jennifer James of Cornwall; one brother, Claude Leroux of Ottawa; nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by siblings, Jeannine, Horace, Doris, Roma and Jean. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Rita's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Church in Brasher Falls with Rev. Garry Giroux. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Alexandria, Ontario at 2 pm.
