St. Regis Falls- Mr. Kenneth H. LaFrance, 80, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with the love, support, and care of his family and hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Kenny was born in Malone on September 13, 1933 to the late Joseph and Mildred LaFrance. He was raised and educated locally. In 1953 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps; proudly serving his country with honor and dignity. In 1956 he was honorably discharged into the inactive reserve. On October 27, 1956 Kenneth was married to Alice Racicot at the Holy Cross Church in Hopkinton. They shared a devoted union led by love and faith for 52 years, until the time of Alice's passing on November 1, 2008. For many years Kenny worked at Reynolds Metals in Massena, retiring in 1995. He also was the long time caretaker of St. Ann's Cemetery in St. Regis Falls; always making sure tasks were done precisely and up to par. Kenny was a humble man and took pride in everything he did. As a loving grandfather, he shared a special relationship with each of his grandchildren; cherishing time spent, no matter what the occasion. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Marine Corps League in Massena, the St. Regis Falls American Legion, and a parishioner of St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls. Kenny is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bruce Wilson of St. Regis Falls, his grandchildren: Kellie and Matthew Douzuk, of HI, Kenneth Wilson of Saranac Lake, Kristopher Wilson, and Kevin Wilson both of St. Regis Falls, and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife he was also predeceased by his siblings: Margaret Kingsley, Joseph LaFrance, Catherine Shanty, Rachel Shanty, Earl LaFrance, Janet Wright, Myron LaFrance, Dewey LaFrance, and Linda White. In keeping with the family's wishes, services will be held privately at their convenience. For those wishing to express an act of kindness or sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Country (Malone) in Kenneth's honor. Memories and condolences may be shared with his family at www.hammillfh.com.
