Obituary of Ronald I. Perry

Massena- Mr. Ronald I. Perry Sr., 70 passed away Sunday October 19, 2014 at the Canton- Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Born in Chateaugay on June 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Albert and Louella (Boyea) Perry. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Chateaugay High School. He married Susan M. Rottier of Malone who predeceased him in July of 1990. Ron was a handy-man and a dedicated worker. Throughout his life he was employed by several companies: McCadam Cheese Plant in Chateaugay, Tru-Stitch Factory in Malone, Titus Mountain in Malone, the St. Lawrence Center Mall, and Home Depot in Massena; the position from which he retired. Blessed with a friendly spirit, Ron truly enjoyed life. He especially liked visiting with family and friends at social events and family gatherings. He loved trips to the casino, fishing, and bowling. He was a member of the Fish and Game Club in Malone and the Bowling League at the Crossroads in Moira. Those who knew and loved him will miss his companionship and gentle smile. He is survived by 4 daughters and 1 son: Michelle and Claude St-Denis of Massena, Kimberly and Joseph Dishaw of Massena, Ronald I. Perry Jr. of Maine., Amy and Timothy Hooper of Japan, and Cathy and David Dillabough of Brushton, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his brother, Dennis Perry of New Mexico, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by his companion of 25 years, Corinne Crump of Brasher Falls, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Ron was predeceased by his daughter, Mandy Lynn Perry, and his siblings, Violet, Iolanthe, Regina, Verdel, Elmer, and Orvie Perry. Visitation will be Thursday from 11-1 at the funeral home. Ron's Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm upon conclusion of visitation with Rev. Andrew Amyot officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Tri-Town Rescue Squad or St. Patrick Church.
