St. Regis Falls - Lawrence E. Boulds, 67, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 11, 2014 with his family by his side. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Larry was born on March 3, 1947 in Potsdam , son of Elvin and Patricia (Parks) Boulds, Jr. On January 21, 1967, he married Donna Arcadi at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls. Larry was an outdoorsman, he loved working in the woods and enjoying the wildlife. He found hunting difficult as there were too many trees to look at. He owned and operated Blue Mountain Paving and then built Deer Valley Trails (Restaurant, Bar and Lodging). His love for the outdoors was built into the restaurant and cabins, providing the patrons true Adirondack experience and hospitality.
He was a peaceful, patient man, embracing the importance of family. They were the center of his life and his source of happiness. He had planned a trip to Sturgis; with Donna behind him on his Harley, they completed his wish. His love for his wife, children and grandchildren was evident whenever they were around him, giving him a positive outlook on life and a strong will to live.
Larry will remain forever in the hearts of his wife, Donna; his children Julia Rockhill of TN, Amy Boulds and Vicki Boulds both of Plattsburgh, and Steven Boulds of St. Regis Falls; his parents, Junior and Pat Boulds of Nicholville; his sister, Lisa and Gale Susice of St. Regis Falls; five grandchildren, Travis, Jennifer, Luke, Branigan and Sienna.
Following Larry's wishes; private services will be held at the convenience of his family.
Those wishing to express an act of kindness, please consider donations in his memory to Center of Cancer Care, Canton - Potsdam Hospital, 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676.
Memories and condolences can be shared with Larry's family at www.hammillfh.com.

Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family, Donna. I came to the area as a stranger and you and Larry have treated me like family. I will miss all the paving jobs we "built" together from our stools at Deer Valley.Larry was well respected by all in the paving business and even more so as a human being. I am proud to be one of many who called him my friend.

Dear Donna and family, as President of Stony Brook Club, please accept our deepest sympathy with the passing of Larry. He indeed was a good friend to our club over many years. He was well known by many of our members. We were always grateful for his continuous efforts to make the Brown Track accessible. I can recall many years ago when I was sec/treasurer and Dave Thornhill was President, how we always admired and respected Larry's concern for the future of our club. Our club and members will miss his support. We will be sending a donation to the Center of Cancer Care in his memory. On a personal note, I will miss seeing Larry at Deer Valley. I always looked forward to stopping by and wondering if Larry and Donna might be there. I do recall a few occasions that after leaving Deer Valley, the Brown Track seemed longer than usual! It is an understatement to say that "Larry will be missed by many". I am fortunate and grateful to have known him and will have many fond memories. Peace, tim
