Dear Jack, Debbie, Fred, Patti, and Kathy
It is hard for me to put into words my feelings for your dad. He was a wonderful man. Caring, loving, hard working, and of gentile spirit. He was an amazing cook. I can't count the number of his special recipes I shared. The spicy cabbage soup, the pot roast dinners. Truly delicious!
He took such great care of my mom. No one could do more than he did. And it was out of love for her. For sure it took a toll on him but he would have it no other way. A very special man and husband.
I will miss John. I think of him often.
God bless you all!

I first met John almost sixty years ago when he worked in the maintenance dept. at Massena Central Schools. He had an additional duty as equipment manager in the athletic dept. For two years I was the manager of the wrestling team and would help John handing out equipment to the kids.He had a good sense of humor and great smile and was well liked by the athletes and coaching staff. I always wondered what became of him but was delighted to see he had a long and prosperous life. My deepest condolences to his entire family. Dick Johnston, Knoxville, Tennessee

From the very first time we met John he endeared himself to our family, and quickly became Uncle John. There was not a finer gentleman in Brasher Falls. It was easy to see why Aunt Bette fell in love with him. We are so glad that they found each other! When Mom (Aunt Pauline) died Uncle John was so kind, generous and caring toward us. We have never forgotten and never will. We have heard in these last few years how well Uncle John has taken care of our dear aunt. We are so grateful. There is only one thing that any of us can take with us when we pass on: Love. And so we send John on to his place in paradise with Christ and all the saints with a resounding, "We love you, Uncle John!"

Our most sincere condolences to Aunt Bette and the family in this most difficult time. I didn't know John very well, but the times I have been in his presence, I felt great admiration for him being such a dedicated husband to my Aunt... Your family and our entire family has lost a good person who was admired by anyone who knew him... May your memories comfort you...
Sincerely with love and prayers,
Dee & Vern
