Additional Obit Info

St. Regis Falls- Mrs. Laura A. "Midge" Sevey, 75, passed away peacefully, Saturday April 25, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls. Laura was born in Clearfield, PA., on March 8, 1939 to the late Albert Litten and Beatrice (Haggerty) Litten. She graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School. On July 11, 1959 she married Marshal Sevey at the Episcopal Church in Colton. They shared a devoted union of 42 years until the time of Marshal's passing in 2002. Midge's passion in life was caretaking for others; especially her children and grandchildren. After caring for and raising her own family, Midge established a Proprietor Home for the Aging, in her own home. For many years that was her life and hobby. She was truly a humble woman and those who knew and loved her would say she was always concerned for the well being of others. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children: Debra and Patrick Pearl of Potsdam, Sharon Patraw of St. Regis Falls, Marsha Ploof of Ogdensburg, Michael and Jane Sevey of Moira, Jeffrey Sevey and Sharon Bailey of Hopkinton, and Lori and Michael Malette of Brushton, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters and a brother-in-law: Sandra and Lawrence Regan of South Colton, Betty Lavine of Baltimore, MD., and Eleanor Gaines of Andalusia, AL., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday from 11-1 at the funeral home. Midge's Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:00pm at the conclusion of visitation. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in St. Regis Falls. For those wishing to express an act of kindness, memorial contributions may be made in Midge's honor to the St. Regis Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Following services at the cemetery, Midge's family respectfully invites family and friends to join them for a reception at the St. Regis Falls Fire Department. Memories and condolences may be shared with her family at www.hammillfh.com.
