Potsdam – Joseph A. Gibson, Jr., 33, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Joseph was born on November 13, 1982 in Malone, son of Joseph A. and Cynthia (Harper) Gibson, Sr. He received his education at St. Lawrence Central and on November 17, 2001, he married Samantha Gilbo at the Brasher Falls United Methodist Church. They shared a union of 14 years of love and devotion to their children.
Joe was a hardworking man, dedicating himself to the details of his job as Assistant Manager at Jrecks Subs in Potsdam. He supported his children in their sporting endeavors, always helping them warm-up, never missing a game. He had a big heart, always helping people, whenever they were in need. An avid outdoorsman, Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing (sports he shared with his children). He enjoyed taking walks with his family, playing games and the times spent cuddling with his children.
Joe is survived by his wife, Samantha, his children Taylor, Joseph III, and Brittney, his mother, Cynthia Gibson of Brasher Falls, siblings, April Charleson and her companion, Jason Coughlin of Winthrop, Derek and Rachel Gibson of North Lawrence and Bryce Gibson and his companion, Nikki Trim of Hermon, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. A Remembrance Gathering will be at 4pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Hopkinton-Ft. Jackson Cemetery in Hopkinton.
