I just now learned of Rick's passing and I am so sorry! Rick was my second cousin - his grandfather, my Uncle Bud, and my grandfather Wallace Cudlipp were brothers and I spent several vacations in NY state in both the Winthrop house and Lake Ozonia house growing up... Ricky was about a year older than me and we had great times together as kids. We sporadically kept in Facebook touch and I had been thinking I hadn't heard from him in a while... So sorry he is gone...

We first came to know Rick in the fall of 2007. Our lives were forever changed. Rick became like part of our family. He visited every year in the fall from 2007 through 2015. What a kind and considerate human being! What a fantastic story teller! What a great friend! We are saddened to hear of Rick's passing. It broke our hearts to come across this sad news. He brought fresh wind from the north and the best smiles and hugs that always warmed our hearts. We always looked forward to his coming to Ohio and will sorely miss him this year. We will hold a moment of silence in his honor as we gather for Thanksgiving Dinner and never forget his Thanksgiving one word speeches! May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Rick's passing.
My father, Mike and I met Rick on a memorable moose hunt in Newfoundland, four years ago.
We kept in contact with the occasional phone call and booked another hunt the next year. It was always a pleasure to have Rick around the camp. The stories were endless.
I guess our plans for a regular hunt on my new property in northern Ontario will not come into fruition. I know you will be there in spirit Rick and I will say a prayer as I sit in the stand thinking of the good times we shared.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
God Bless,
Tim Brand, a good Canadian friend.

We wish to express our heart felt condolences to all of Rick's friends. We were all left in shock and heartbreak at his passing. We are grateful to have known him and to have shared some of his dreams and his memories.
I shared Rick's love of beautiful firearms, great Scotch Whisky, and far off places so we were comrade "in arms". Rick was comfortable stopping in at our home unannounced and for that Lise and I are most greatful. We shared campfires and a few, or more, Molsons at the Stag Club. There will forever be a vacant seat at the camp fire now. Rest in Peace, Friend and good hunting!

I will miss our times together reminiscing about things like our bear hunting trip at McIntyre's on the Saranac River or the many midnight shifts we worked together at the Potsdam PD where you attempted to teach me the finer points of being a police officer. I always looked forward to our times together and can't believe that your gone. You always asked how my father was doing and told me how proud you were of my boys. You kept a close eye on my daughter and my granddaughters across the street. It made me feel good knowing that you were there. Rest in peace Ricardo, Old Buddy - you will never be forgotten.

I have known Rick since I was a young man growing up in Potsdam.
He had to set me straight a couple times when he was a police officer in Potsdam, which help me out. In later years we were good friends and he was a pleasure to know.
He was without doubt the funniest person I ever had the pleasure to know. He would put on 45-60 minute routines that were so funny you didn't have time to take a drink or catch your breath.
I will miss Rick dearly. He was a great friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry to hear of Rick's death. He was a student at St. Patrick's in Brasher Falls when I taught there. I have fond memories of his mother and father. Rick and Gary Bennett used to tease Sr. M. Alexis!!! She always smiled at both of them. He attended a Kelley Family reunion a couple of years ago and was able to share some of his memories with Sr. M. Nora and Sr. Theresa Kane. May Rick rest in peace.
