Obituary of Eleanor C Gillespie

Helena – Eleanor C. Gillespie, 79, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family, friends and Hospice with her on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Following her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Graveside services at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam will be held at a later date. Eleanor was born on May 15, 1936 in Neptune, NJ, daughter of the late Charles Eugene and Eleanor G. (VanBrackle) Hall and attended Long Branch High School. She modeled for the Asbury Park Press and the Long Branch Daily Record for some time. She married George W. Gillespie on April 21, 1981 in Long Branch, NJ. Mr. Gillespie passed on May 10, 2000. Eleanor is survived by her companion, Roger Ryea, seven children, Linda Miller of FL, Joseph and Arlene Bechard of CA, Carolyn and Gary Tvrdik of NJ, David Reed of NJ, Gary Hall of NJ, Wendy and Chris Nolan of ME, and Robin Stephenson of FL, her siblings, Charles R. and Mary Hall of NJ, Beverly Sciortino of FL and Mickey Major of NJ, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
