Obituary of Kathleen A Mullins Rublack
Massena- Mrs. Kathleen A. Mullins Rublack, 79, formerly of Whibey Island, WA., passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2016, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington after complications due to surgery. Local arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Kathleen was born on August 5, 1937 in Waukegan , Illinois to the late Percy and Magdalene (Gingrich) Darnell. In 1955 she married Patrick J. Mullins, who predeceased her in 1962.
For many years Kathleen worked as a cosmetologist and then as a receptionist for the Russ Berry Corporation in Oakland, NJ.
After relocating to Massena, Kathleen remained very active in the community; volunteering at the hospital, the museum and for other various events whenever help was needed. Kathleen was a true people person and shared her smile wherever she went. She treasured the friendships made and time spent with her close friends and the members of her garden club.
As faith took a precedent in her life, Kathleen was a very active parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Massena as well as a member of the Sacred Heart League. She was also a member of the Massena Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and was an avid reader.
Kathleen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick J. and Bonnie Mullins III of Milford, PA., her daughter, Vicki L. Mullins and her companion, Rick Steed of Massena, her grandchildren: Patrick J. and Lauren Mullins IV of VA., Shaun and Michelle Mullins of PA., Vanessa and Justin Hahn of Massena, and Joseph and Cheyenne Florie of TX., a sister, Patsy DeLotto, 2 brothers, Jerry and Thomas Darnell, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Kathleen was predeceased by 2 brothers, David and Patrick Darnell.
Kathleen's Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated, Tuesday August 23 at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in Massena. Burial will take place Thursday at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi, NJ.
