St. Regis Falls - Adam R. Cox, 33, passed away unexpectedly, June 28, 2017. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, where visitation will be held Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 pm at St. Ann's Church in St. Regis Falls followed by burial in St. Ann's Cemetery.
Adam was born on December 28, 1983 in Saranac Lake, son of Ralph E. Cox and Irene M. Cascanette. He graduated from St. Regis Falls High School and went on to take college courses at North County Community College. He became a Corrections Officer, working at the Franklin Correctional Facility in Malone.
Adam was very committed to his community. He joined the St. Regis Falls Fire Department and with his dedication earned the title of First Assistant Chief (Car 150-01). He made many lifelong friends on his watch. He is presently the President of the St. Regis Falls Sportsmen's Club, who at a young age, was admired for his good and kind nature. His ambition led him to the position of Union Stewart for his union, NYSCOPBA. He was on a mission to improve the working conditions and safety of its members.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and riding his Harley. Adam enjoyed music, whether singing, dancing, watching music video but especially listening to Johnny Cash. He would be seen accompanied by his canine companion, Gunner, around town and hiking, and at home, his feline named Lucy would be there for him when they returned. Adam was family oriented, with a compassionate heart and caring soul. He held a great love and admiration for his parents and sisters, who will all cherish his memory.
Adam is survived by his parents, Irene Cox of St. Regis Falls and Ralph Cox of St. Regis Falls, his sisters, Heather and Daniel Rondeau of St. Regis Falls and Laura and Richard Chapman of Dickinson Center, his maternal grandmother, Helen Cascanette of St. Regis Falls and his paternal grandmother, Joyce Cox of Dickinson Center, nieces and nephews, Daniel Rondeau III, Brittany Threlkeld, Kerrigan Rondeau, Caydence Rondeau, Noah Rondeau, Luke Chapman, Anna Chapman and Cole Chapman, his canine companion, Gunner and his feline companion, Lucy. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Bernard Cascanette, his paternal grandfather, Ernest Cox and his cousin, Sierra Riley.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Adam's memory to the St. Regis Falls Fire Department, St. Jude's Children Hospitals or St. Ann's Church.
Memories and condolences can be shared with his family at www.hammillfh.com.

My heart goes out to Irene, Ralph and the Cox family and friends of Adam in your time of sorrow. I know Adam has left you with many precious memories from his 33 way too short years with us. When death robs us of someone we love very much, it causes much sadness and grief. Our loving heavenly Father, "Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: "And no resident will say "I am sick," ever again. Revelations 21: 4 says: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." The family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you.
I pray it will bring you comfort to please watch this beautiful video (song 144) entitled "Keep Your Eyes on the Prize" https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/VODChildren/pub-pksn_24_VIDEO

Although I never met Adam, he was very good friends with my brother Liam who passed away. Adam always left kind words on his FB page and we would "chat" about Liam, and the tattoo he got in memory of him. I know Liam was there to hug him hello, and I can't express my sympathies enough! I am so sorry for your loss! May the angels lead him to paradise!

There are absolutely no words to express our grief. Adam will always hold a special place in our hearts & he will never be forgotten. We honor him for his unselfish service to his community & his willingness to always help others. He was one of a kind.....now he is a Free Bird. Fly high & when we hear Lynerd Skynerd we will fondly remember hanging out with you at the Sportsmens Club on New Years Eve. Thanks for being such a great friend. You were the best.

The Pennington family is so sorry for your loss. Mostly I remember Laura who was in school with Chylie. They were great friends in the day. I remember Adam as a little boy. Such a shame to have ones life cut so short. No mother should have to bury her child, her baby. Irene my heart goes out to you. Your family is in my heart and prayers. I pray you find peace knowing that Adam now walks with God.

I am at a total loss for words. Adam was in 7th grade when I started at SRF Central and he was my student for 6 years. I could count on him for anything and he had a huge, huge heart. He loved his family and helping others. I will miss him beyond words. Every Christmas for the past 19 years Adam would always bring me homemade peanut butter fudge. I looked forward to seeing him every year and without fail he always showed. Needless to say, Christmas will never be the same for me. Rest In Peace in my friend. God just brought home one of the good ones.
