Nicholville - Harold N. Stark, 69, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, July 7, 2017 at Canton Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Harold was born on August 18, 1947 in Potsdam, son of the late Harold A. and Joyce (Bullock) Stark. He married Cynthia C. Gilbo at the Potsdam United Methodist Church on February 25, 1967. During their 50 years of marriage, they were blessed with four children and many grandchildren. Harold spent his working career as a farmer, woodsman and mechanic. He could fix anything, but especially liked to work on tractors and lawn mowers. He enjoyed the quiet of fishing and the exhilaration of tractor pulls. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife- Cynthia, Four Children-Christine and Douglas Judware, Jr. of Winthrop, Cathy and Lee Gonyea of Potsdam, Harold and Amanda Stark, Jr. of Winthrop and Michele Ladison and Timothy Burcume of Madrid, His Siblings - Ralph Stark of FL, Sally Brothers of Rochester, Gary Stark of Ogdensburg, Linda Razis of Winthrop, Kenny Stark of Brasher, Terry Stark of Potsdam and Carol LaBier of Nicholville, 24 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harold was predeceased by one sister, Jeannie Ryan. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Harold's Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Brasher Falls.
