Joanne and Arlene would be the only ones, who knew my connection with Joanne. When I graduated from high school, I was able to get a job at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, the summer of 1966. Joanne worked on the floor, that I was assigned to and our head nurse was Cate Conroy. I was a Ward Secretary, and Joanne was an LPN. I had been accepted into the Morrisville LPN program starting that fall. Joanne was the first LPN I ever knew and worked with. I loved her spirit! I knew then, that I wanted to be a nurse JUST LIKE HER!!! I did go on to earn my LPN and never went on for my RN. I loved what I did all of my nursing years and truly thought of "Smitty" often!
I am so very sorry for your loss. ---- Kathy (Dillon) Brownjohn

To the Wagstaff girls and their families,
We were so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. When we spoke with Jenny in June/July she said that Joanne was not doing well. We had hoped she would get better and are so sorry that that was not to be. May you all be comforted by your memories of all the wonderful times your family had together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Doug and Kathy

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your dear Mother. She was a kind soul, a very patient person. I know she has gone home to Heavenly Father where she was greeted with loving tears and warm embraces by those who passed before her and love her very much. I know, too, that she is in a state of happiness, a state of rest from all troubles, from all care and sorrow, and a state of peace and solace. You will miss her greatly, but you will always have strong, sweet memories of time shared with your Mom and will realize that she loved you all very, very much. My sincere condolences to your family.

Hello, my name is Rebecca. I am from the Potsdam area, and I wanted to say to the friends and family of Joanne Wagstaff, that I am very sorry for your loss. I also wanted to share a little word of encouragement.
There is a lovely scripture that always helped me through difficult times. It's found in Revelation 21:4. It specks of God's promise for the earth and everyone on it. It says, "And he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Isn't that a beautiful promise? If you would like to learn more about God's future hope, please contact me at carbo96@icloud.com. Thank you for your time.

We are so sorry. Got to know Joanne in a special way as we traveled for teaming and enjoyed our time together. I often think of her raising six daughters and what a typical day must have been like ! Her sweet spirit will be sorely missed but you know she is rejoicing in heaven filled with love and light. Will be unable to attend the memorial service as we committed to watch grandchildren in Saratoga for a couple of days but our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.
