Obituary of Gabriel E. Susice

St. Regis Falls - Gabriel E. Susice, 73, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls where visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 pm with his funeral service to start at 7pm.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery on May 14th at 9:30 am.

Gabriel was born on December 27, 1943 in Santa Clara, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Susice.  He went to school in Santa Clara and St Regis Falls Central.  He entered the U. S. Navy, served on the USS Intrepid and received a honorable discharge in 1963.  On January 18, 1969 in St. Regis Falls, he married Eileen J. Cheney with whom he shared 47 years. They were blessed with a lifelong friendship and two children.

He worked for ALCOA in Massena as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1991. Gabe was one with the outdoors, at his best fishing and hunting.  He was one of the founding members of the Mile Brook Hunting Club and a member of the SRF Sportsman's Club. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church .

Gabriel is survived by his wife, Eileen; their children, Gabriel Joseph and Pamela Susice of St. Regis Falls and Laurie and Toby Peary of Nicholville; their grandchildren, Logan Adams of Canton, Gabriel J. Susice, II of Moira, Blake Raymond Susice of Moira and Sarah Ann Susice of St. Regis Falls; his siblings, Timothy Susice of Ticonderoga, Roche and Marie Susice of Rochester and Ann and Reg O'Neil of St. Regis Falls.  He was predeceased by one sister amd brother in law, Rosalie and Rupert Rockhill.
