Obituary of Colleen M. Russell
St. Regis Falls – Colleen M. Russell, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at her home surrounded with the love of her family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home.
Colleen was born on September 30, 1962 in Malone, daughter of John and Beatrice (Cherrier) Reardon. She graduated from Salmon River Central School, where she worked for a short while, then going to the Bombay Slipper Factory. She went to work for NYS as a DSA at Taconic DDSO in Wassaic, until she had to retire due to her illness. She married Martin J. Russell on August 27, 1983 at St. Joseph’s Church in Bombay.
Colleen’s life centered around her family; always doting on them and expressing her opinion, the right one. She enjoyed playing food bingo with friends and always ready for conversation. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in St. Regis Falls.
Surviving Colleen is her husband, Martin; four children, Miranda A. and Josh Baile of Winthrop, Kaye A. and Daniel Horne of Cumberland, VA, Kurt J. Russell and Kathleen M. Russell, both at home; her parents, John and Beatrice Reardon of Bombay; nine siblings, Ellen and Jerry Gratton of Westville, Brian Reardon of Bombay, Dennis and Dawn Reardon of Bombay, Sharon Reardon of Somerville, MA, Neil and Heather Reardon of Chateaugay, Kerry Reardon of Moira, Bridget and Daniel Pascual of Wolcott, VT, Patrick and Dawn Reardon of St. Regis Falls and Michael and Heather Reardon of Constable. She was predeceased by one brother, Sean Reardon.
Visitation for Colleen will be held, Wednesday 2 to 5 pm at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 am at St. Ann’s Church in St. Regis Falls with Rev. Alfred Fish celebrating. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brushton on May 11th at 9am.
