Obituary of Deeon M. LaBier
North Lawrence- Mrs. Deeon M. (Crump) LaBier, 58 lost her courageous battle with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and passed away on Wednesday January 3, 2018 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, surrounded by her family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Deeon was born on Saturday May 2, 1959 in Potsdam, the daughter of the late Lloyd and the late Beatrice (Gibson) Crump. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School in 1977.
On June 17, 1978 Deeon married her best friend who she lovingly called 'daddy'; Roger LaBier at St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence. She worked at the Slipper Factory, National Safety and most recently at Wal-Mart in Malone, until it was too difficult for her to work due to the ILD.
Deeon was the matriarch of her family; always putting the care of others before herself. She loved her family deeply and her grandchildren were her world. She also enjoyed Bingo and playing games on her iPad.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Michelle LaBier; daughter Amanda LaBier; grandchildren: Kadyn Deshane, Peyton LaBier, Gabriella LaBier and Hailey Ashlaw; her siblings: Carole (Carmen) Jock, Carl (Ann) Crump, Roy Crump, June Engle, Shara 'Lisa' (Richard) Paige, Dale (Christine Donnelly) Crump, and Doyle Crump; 2 brothers-in-law: James Sauvie and Peter Dawes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Trudy Crump, Walker (Sharon) Crump, Ramona Dawes, Thiry Sauvie; sister-in-law Deborah Crump; brother-in-law James Engle; and a granddaughter Peanut LaBier.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan 6 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Deeon's Funeral Service to follow visitation, beginning at 2:00PM.
