Obituary of Eugene K. Judware
North Lawrence- Mr. Eugene K. Judware, 73, passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2018 at University Hospital SUNY Heath Science Center in Syracuse with the love and support of his family at his side. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Gene was born in Malone on December 3, 1944 to the late Lloyd and Gladys (King) Judware and graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School.
For many years Gene was a truck driver, over the road and interstate; working for North Star Trucking Inc., Lavalle Transportation Inc., Ed McGraw, and his own trucking business, Judd and Sons.
On August 8, 2007; a beautiful sunny day surrounded by family and friends, he married Melanie Cruce in their backyard in North Lawrence.
Gene was never one to stay idle; those who knew and loved him best could always find him in his garage working on something. On camping trips and at family gatherings Poppa was always the cook. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp and playing cards, however his most treasured moments were those spent with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Melanie; his children: Eugene ‘Punky’ and Sylvia Judware, Trudy and Joe LaBier, Nancy LaBier and her companion Larry Garvey, Daniel and Michelle Judware, Reggie and Sarah Judware, Mackenzie Judware and her companion TJ Crast, Kyra Judware, Courtney and Nick Murdie, and Cody Rogers; and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who he loved very much.
Survivors also include his siblings: Sally and Gerald Gibson, Donald Judware, Patricia and Mike Burnett, Linda and Jody Dissottle, Virginia and Gary LaBrake, Diane Swary, and Ann Robbins.
Besides his parents, Gene was predeceased by his brothers: Douglas, Richard, Lloyd Jr., Robert and Frederick.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 4-6 pm. An informal closing prayer service will be shared upon conclusion of calling hours at 6:00 pm.
