Obituary of Pamela S. Rookey
Madrid – Pamela S. Rookey, 62, passed away Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, ending her courageous battle with cancer. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Pamela was born on October 28, 1955 in Potsdam, daughter of James E. and Elizabeth J (LaMora) Crump. She had worked as a Nurses Aid at United Helpers, Maplewood, in Canton.
She is survived by her companion, William Taylor of Ogdensburg; three sons, Eugene and Hazel Sawyer of Colton, Darrell Sawyer of Madrid and Dustin Crump and Lindsey Quenneville of Massena; her father, James Crump of Winthrop, her brother and sister-in-law, Shirlie Crump of Winthrop and her sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Robert Wood of Winthrop; five grandchildren, Thomas Matthie, Jordan Sawyer, Hanna Sawyer, Hope Dykes and Haley Dykes, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Pamela was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Crump, her sister, Irene Oakes and a nephew, Adam Crump.
Following her wishes, her graveside service will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery in Brasher Falls on May 25th at 1 pm.
