Obituary of Donald M. Crinklaw
Nicholville – Donald M. Crinklaw, 91, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018. Following his wishes; funeral services will be private for his family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home.
Donald was born on July 6, 1927 in Nicholville, son of the late Myron and Mildred (Turner) Crinklaw. He attended rural school on the Cady Road and went on to Brushton High School. He married Alice Parker in St. Regis Falls in 1946. They shared 45 years of marriage and raised their four children. Alice passed away on July 26, 1991. He married Ann (Corwin) Peets-Karlberg on September 17, 1994 in Hopkinton. Ann passed away on August 14, 2014.
From a young age, Donald operated Crinklaw’s Farm. He was proud of a profession that requires an education, an understanding for business, a desire to care for animals, land conservation and provide for people that he would never meet. To Donald, dairy farming was not work- it was his life. He enjoyed entertaining his loved ones with his wisdom and old-time stories. He encouraged his children and grandchildren in their endeavors and was proud of their accomplishments. He was a member of the Dairymen’s League and McCavanaugh Pond. He enjoyed farming, 4-wheeling, hunting and repairing old tractors.
Donald is survived by his children; Jean and Willy Miller of Nicholville, Judy and John Crowley of Cicero, and Jerry and Angie Crinklaw of Nicholville, his grandchildren; Jeff and Candy, Sian and Mike Gardner, Ryan, Jessica and Graham Marsh, Allison and Jeff Dennison, Lance, Carissa and Steve, Cassandra and Justin, Jason and Brandon, his great grandchildren; Cody, Seth, Breydon, Will, Colby, Natalie, Aubree, Raelynn and Andrea. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Snyder, one brother, Elkanah Crinklaw, one sister, Irene Rhodes, and his great grandson, Kyle Cootware.
