Obituary of James E. St. Hilaire
North Lawrence/ Frostproof, FL – James Edmond St. Hilaire, Sr., 67, passed away at his home in Frostproof, FL on January 14, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer and under the care of his family and Hospice.
He was born on January 3, 1952 in Potsdam, son of the late Edmond and Priscilla (LaBaff) St. Hilaire. Jim was married to the late Elaine Prince from Norfolk, NY. They were married in May 1975 in Las Vegas, NV until her death in 1998. Jim met and married the widow Emma (Villnave) Montroy at St. Patrick’s Church in Brasher Falls in September of 1998. She passed away from cancer in 2001. Jim went to live many years since in Florida. He had a life partner, Mary Jane Nuskey who survives him and lives in Frostproof, FL.
James was a college administrator at St. Lawrence University and was forced into a medical retirement in 1994.
Jim is survived by his son, James E. St. Hillaire, II of Frostproof, FL, his siblings, Raymond and Marilyn St. Hilaire of Norfolk, Charles and Jeanette St. Hilaire of Winthrop and Patty and John Judware of Potsdam, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Linda Huff and Sharon Crump.
Following his wishes, after cremation, a Mass will be held at the Church of the Visitation on Wednesday May 29th at 10 am with burial to follow at Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk.
