Please share a memory of Bryan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reno, NV – With deep sadness we share the passing of Mr. Bryan M. Compo, 33, who unexpectedly passed away at his home in Sparks, Nevada on June 16, 2021. Local arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Bryan was born in Potsdam on November 24, 1987, to Lorraine Fregoe and Kent Compo. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in 2006 and continued his education at SUNY Potsdam. His adventurous spirit and dreams inspired by nature led him to Lake Tahoe where he then attended Sierra Nevada College earning his bachelor’s degree in Resort Management.
Bryan was a laborer working construction and painting for Elements Mountain Company, based out of Truckee, CA.
Anyone who knew Bryan knew his passion and enthusiasm for nature, as he loved camping, snowboarding, hiking; anything outdoors but was particular to fly fishing. Bryan was artistic and especially enjoyed painting outdoors. He loved music and wrote poetry, often combining the two.
He had an exceptional connection with kids, related to him or not. He truly cherished all the time he spent with his daughter Gemma and loved taking her fly fishing.
He was also physically pushing himself to new achievements as he was training diligently on his body building and physique.
He will be sorely missed by his family who survives him; mother, Lorraine Fregoe and her husband Mark Daniels of Winthrop; father, Kent Compo and his wife Kamie of Brasher Falls; a daughter, Gemma Caranao of Reno; brother, Nathan Compo of Pittsburgh, PA., and half brother Thomas McLaughlin of Missoula, MT; grandparents, Ron and Barb Fregoe of North Lawrence, and Bob and Sharon Compo of Winthrop; step – brothers and step – sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; girlfriend Jill Oates and her children, Bennie and Joseph, and his landlord who Bryan called ‘Auntie Momma’, TerriLyn Martin.
Family and friends are invited to join for A Celebration of Bryan’s Life which will be held on Saturday July 24th, at his mother Lorraine’s home on the Crane Road in Winthrop, beginning at 2:00 PM.
