Obituary of Brooke M. Votra

Lenoir City, Tennessee/Massena - Ms. Brooke Marie Votra, 37, formerly of Massena, passed away at her home on Sunday June 20, 2021, in Tennessee. Local arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop where visitation will be held on Friday July 2nd, from 5 - 7 PM. Brooke was born in Massena on April 11, 1984, to Edward and Shelly (Coffin) Votra and graduated from Massena High School. Brooke had an outgoing personality and spirit that accompanied her wherever she went. She had a passion for yoga, was a people person, and loved animals especially her beloved black lab, Jax. She found solace and comfort in nature as she started each day gazing out at the water and smoky mountains. Although Brooke had faced many hurdles in her short life and was currently fighting a battle with cancer she remained positive and was able to express her appreciation for the love and support of those around her. She leaves behind her family and friends who will miss her dearly but find comfort in the fact that she is no longer in pain; cherished parents, Edward and Shelly Votra, Massena; her sister that Brooke looked up to and respected, Crystal Votra and her companion Dion Oakes, Massena; aunts, Sherry Hewitt, Chase Mills, Donna Sienkiewycz, Massena, Robin (Vern) Datoush, Watertown, Sandra Coffin, Oregon; uncle, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Coffin, Canastota; nieces whom she adored, Jade, Tianna, Jordan, Aaliyah, and Aubree; and great- niece, Oaklynn; lifetime friend, Matt Williams; roommates, George Sparks, Trey Haney, and Fallon Houser; her best friend, Shannon Welch, Massena, who was like a sister to Brooke; and close friends Dotty and Michael Barnhill. Brooke was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Donald and Arlene Coffin and an uncle, Randy Coffin. We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Brooke with this passing being so sudden, as a family we have decided to honor Brooke by having a funeral fundraiser.
