I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of this kind hearted man. He will be missed dearly by all. He was the nicest man around, always willing to help anyone in need, with a smile. I've bought about 4 cars from him, about every one i've owned, such a great guy, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'll never forget the stories my dad told me about their many go-cart races-as he was one of his dearest friends. May he rest in peace.

How to start and some much to thank you for. I am so saddened by your absence, Butch.. you have been so kind to my husband and myself. Even my daughter who can be difficult found you kind and generous // Oh Butch. Terry is so broken hearted that you have left him here alone. He said you were his best friend and he loved you , You were closer than a brother . Oh Butch how we miss you and the tears keep flowing . Oh Butch I can truly say nothing compares to you... Your business flourished only because you had a good heart for people and cared to give the very best. We mourn your loss for it is so bitter of a loss, We are selfish and want you back Oh God if all the tears that have been shed could bring him back I would never stop crying till I saw him walking into the garage again ... Just knowing how much you meant to my husband makes me so proud to have had you as a friend. I will never meet any other like you and now this world we live in is a much lesser more darker sadder place in your absence, I know you are with our Lord and Savior for your goodness shown through your selfless ways like a star!!! I will never say good bye Terry also.. we will meet again Butch and when we do You and Terry will be able to get together and im certain you will have a great sport in heaven waiting for him We all love you Terry loves you and I love you ,,,,,

Norfolk - Larry R. "Butch" McConnohie, 60, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Massena Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.
Butch was born on December 22, 1952 in Uniontown, PA, the only child of the late August and Freda (Savage) McConnohie. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Massena Central School. Butch owned and operated Butch's Auto, his first shop being on Route 420 then on Route 56 in Norfolk. He was a dependable, hard-working man with a friendly nature that kept his customers coming back. In 1978, he met the love of his life, Cindy LaBounty, sharing 35 years of a mutual supportive relationship.
He took pride in raising buffalo and deer but found it difficult to let them go for slaughter. He found entertainment in golfing, biking and go carts. His favorite pastimes were 4-wheeling, and the ritual Friday night analysis sessions after work, which would include some pool playing. He was a kind-hearted, fun-loving man, who would always be available to help someone in need. He loved being in the company of family and friends.
He is survived by his companion, Cindy; aunts, uncles and cousins with many close friends.
Visitation for Butch will be Friday from 4 to 7 at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop with a prayer service to commence at 7pm with Fr. Alfred Fish officiating.
Floral offerings are gratefully declined. Those wishing to show an act of kindness in Butch's memory, please consider donations to the Potsdam or Massena Humane Society, to support his love of animals
